Rhys Gillett blog - Ergos and Rain

After what seemed like forever off the bike, hobbling around on crutches and watching the guys race I’m happy to say I’m back on the bike!! although I think the physio had more of an “ease into it” type approach than head out and smash 2 hours, 2 hours, 3.5 hours and 4 hours with Shawry the first few days back... or visit the Pain Cave with Jay and Shawry for a few hours of efforts because Ballarat has an affinity with dropping large amounts of water from the sky, usually about 10 minutes after you start riding.
Unfortunately - as is usual after a lengthy break - as soon as I get past the magical 2 hour mark the dreaded hungerflat sensation starts to sink in. It’s getting better and I look forward to the day when I can again complete a long ride and not have the urge to eat the whole fridge...
The Virgin Blue - RBS Morgans boys are of racing the Tour of Murray this week and I can’t wait to join them again for the Tour of Tasmania! Every race is like a mini family reunion as most of the year there is no more than 2 of us in the one place.
Anyways, I’m off for a ride...
Cheers
